Innuendos

It's extremely hard to finish a sentence around a boy between the ages of 14-25 without getting some sort of rise out of them.

The Media is in on it too: Take Britney Spears latest song:

This actually took me a while....someone literally spelled it out for me.

From Shakespeare's All's Well that ends Well:
… Your date is better in your pie and your porridge than in your cheek. And your virginity, your old virginity, is like one of our French withered pears: it looks ill, it eats dryly.

If Shakespeare liked them, then we should, too.

A project cannot be hard, a class cannot suck or blow, you cannot be bummed about something...
Wednesday should just be Wednesday, and not "hump day"...

Nothing on my mind

Everyone has something on their mind....but do you ever just have...nothing on your mind?

So, the infamous facebook chat. Sometimes when I have nothing better to do, and don't want to be lame and go to bed so early, I'll randomly start a chat with someone I haven't talked to in a long time, or someone completely random. Everyone has a story to tell...and mine has been told entirely too much. I like listening to other people's.

I should be studying right now, or doing something slightly more worth-while, and productive but tonight has gone by really slowly...

I watched Body of Lies and tied it into a paper....think about what the media portrays about America to the rest of the world. Greed, Deceit, Conspiracy. America really isn't that bad!

And then on a lighter note I watched Cinderella. Always a good movie when you want to sit back and laugh at the image that Disney portrays to the little girl....don't clean your room...the birds and mice will sing and clean it for you! Even if your life is sucky, you too can find a prince charming who will go to the ends of the earth for you! Really....? The likelihood of someone even in America increasing in social class is slim to none. Started in poverty? Chances are you'll end in poverty. AND...to beat all...changing social classes during...what time period? Victorian era? Even worse!

After that I put on club clothes, turned up pandora real loud, and danced around my bedroom...no time to think then! Just let the music move you....it does wonders.

So my question to you is...what's on your mind?

Doublethink

1984- George Orwell.

Is it just easier to imagine that people do things for "the greater good"? Or is it true, that "power is not a means; it is an end." People in power always have the guise of being there to help, listen, console. But once these people admit their thirst for power is driven by nothing righteous, will they be able to lead unabated?

A three class system, seen throughout history...can the ferocity of one class swell and overtake others if they never have an outlet or means?

I do not want to go too much in detail of the book, but it is a must read if you have yet to read it. Can the human spirit ever be quelled, and what is the cost?

Do you ever think it's all bullshit?

Like promised, I am deleting this post. But I think I will leave this title for others to ponder. Enjoy!

Back by Popular Demand!

A few things to grace this blog with:

A retro-look at what school has taught me:

As we learn about functions in a web enabled apps class, I can't help but sing this song!

Since the weather has all of a sudden taken a nasty turn for the worst, right as Spring break is upon us...what can we do with this?

My 10 Spring Break Tips:

1. Leave the country!
My roommate is going to Prague. I'm quite jealous. It's supposed to be cold and gross there, but it's evidently a good thing for Europe.

2. Go to Florida!
Everyone I know is not going for the beautiful water and sand...if it's cold, the mass amount of college students will still find a way to enjoy themselves.

3. Go skiing!
I was going to try to go to Colorado, again, coldness and spring break, while skiing or snowboarding would not be an issue.

4. Enjoy a Music Festival!
Again, this is what people in Austin do. Just get a jug of something warm, and ta-da!

5. Just don't think about it as spring break--enjoy it as a break!
Think of it as a break in general. Do nothing. Watch movies. I have a friend who is planning to get through the entire season of Charmed. Kudos!

6. Become a millionaire!
With an entire week of freedom, this would be a great time to pursue a great idea that you had, but never got around to doing.

7. Study!
This way you can get ahead....HAH!

8. Go on a cruise!
Even if the weather is bad, at least you'll be able to enjoy the free buffets.

9. Read a book.
RAB, DAR, GAB. Wish we could've gotten a buck... But really, if worse comes to worse, this would be a good time to re-read Harry Potter, or another classic.

10. Road trip!
This week would be a perfect time to explore the country (staying out of Mexico and border towns, of course!) But really, gas prices are relatively low compared to recent history, and there's so much to see and do!

I hope this helped anyone who may be struggling with Spring Break and cold/rainy weather blues!

I would like to take this time to thank my parents, who for most of my life always planned something awesome for me to do during spring break.
