Is Gingham plaid?
I could not find a definite answer to this anywhere online, so I had to infer from the wonderful wikipedia. Which states "plaid...in the USA, [refers to] any checkered cloth". Thus, gingham is plaid, although plaid is not necessarily gingham.
I just figured other people may have the same question, so I wanted to post an answer for others to learn from! Thus, a checked gingham shirt can be considered plaid.
